WHO WE ARE
The Nimatullahi Order is based on fraternity and equality of all human beings, with a genuine respect for all religions of the world, as well as love and service to all humanity, regardless of creed, culture and nationality.
WHERE WE HELP
Currently, the Nimatullahi Sufi Order has one health center in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, that provides medical attention and medicines to those who cannot access other forms of health care, due to the lack of ressources.
Besides the regular sanitary staff, the center counts with the collaboration of volunteers. Without their help, a normal functioning service would not be possible.
Out of the different lines of social intervention of the Order in Abidjan we can mention the delivery of new clothes and hygienic care products to patients of the leper colony and the local imprisoned.
You can find more information about our projects in Córdoba and Madrid in Spain and Casa Espernaza, for children in risk of social exclusion in San Miguel de Allende in México, on this website.
Within the framework of the principles of love and service to humanity and through the disinterested work and financial contribution of its members, the Nimatullahi Sufi Order develops multiple projects for the most disadvantaged, according to the circumstances and needs of every location.
WHO HELPS US
The construction and functioning of the centers, as well as the supply of medicines. medical equipment and food, etc. is possible almost entirely thanks to the contribution of the members of the Nimatullahi Sufi Order, although there is an increasing interest for this project from people outside the Order, small and mayor enterprises and other non-governmental organizations.
No social project can be carried out in solitary as the nessecities are too big for that the individual effort could create a durable change.
In Spain, we can count with the generous collabortion of the Roviralta Foundation and in our centers outside, we ework with with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, the University DePaul and the National Institute of Public Health of the Health Ministery of Ivory Coast.
The Roviralta Foundation was created in 1959 by the Roviralta brothers. Their aim is to help legal entities with benefic, educational goals or both, dividing into four sections, sometimes interrelated:
- Social Development
- Medicine and Health Service
- Education and Science
- Other activities
The Roviralta Foundation collaborates with Nur Social Work since 2010.
The Foundation Nur receives support from the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation in order to improve our treatment, divulgation and educations programs about HIV/ AIDS.
The University DePaul, leading catholic institution in development and advanced children education research, supports our efforts to create an identification system and intervention service for children with special needs.
The Flora Family Foundation has provided us with the fundings for the development of the project. The Flora Foundation was established in 1998 believing that each individual has the duty to overcome the narrow confines of the personal interests and must be aware of the wide concerns of humanity. The Foundation supports educational, artistic and cultural programs, as well as international development, equality, health care, environment, human services, economical development, humanitarian assistance, cultural preservation and international security.
Our Work in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, would not be possible without the support, the encouragment and the active participation of the INSP, the Ministery of Public Health, which provides us with the ressources that a small organization like ours would never be capable of managing on its own. Above all, the INSP staff collaborates thoroughly with our Special Care-Team and provides us kindly with the logistic support for our training sessions.
